The end of September saw Kombit Chanje Haïti making its first major move on the ground in Haiti, and that move was accompanied by notebooks, pencils, backpacks, and eager to go to school children with bright eyes.

On September 27, 2025, the KCH team came together in a Haitian community to provide school supplies that are necessary for the kids. Without these, kids would probably not have started the school year. This was not simply a donation but rather a vow that had been fulfilled, a commitment to be present, to hear the needs, and to respond with appropriate actions.

Co-founders Jean Eddy Millien and Daniel Pierre stood alongside local families, teachers, and volunteers as they distributed materials like pens, notebooks, and folders. Over 200 students received supplies, but what stood out even more was the spirit of the day. Kids arrived early, parents expressed deep gratitude, and the whole event ran with a sense of order, respect, and shared purpose.

“This is what ‘kombit’ means,” said Jean Eddy Millien. “It’s not just about giving things away. It’s about working together, side by side, to build something better. When a child walks into class with the tools they need, they walk in with dignity.”

For KCH, education is a key part of its mission to empower Haiti through agriculture and compassion. The organization knows that strong communities don’t just grow food, they grow futures. And that starts in the classroom.

Daniel Pierre, who brings years of experience in project management and community development, stressed the importance of doing things the right way. “We didn’t come in with a plan we made from thousands of miles away,” he said. “We talked to people on the ground, learned what they needed, and made sure our support fit their reality.”

The school supply drive was KCH’s first official field initiative since its founding in June 2025. It set the tone for how the organization wants to operate: with honesty, discipline, and deep respect for the communities it serves.

Photos from the event show smiling children holding their new supplies, volunteers organizing boxes under the sun, and teachers nodding in quiet appreciation. These images tell a story that numbers alone can’t, that hope is real when it’s backed by action.

KCH invites supporters, donors, and partners to join this growing movement. Whether through contributions, sharing the word, or offering skills, every helping hand moves Haiti forward.
